This book is first of all a dialogue between a daughter and a father about life, physical sensation, mortality. They both seem to listen closely to each other. Secondly, it is the extraordinary vehicle for a series of glimpses into the daily life and art of the great Venetian master after a sinister accident at the great exhibition of his work in Venice in 1990. While visiting the exhibition, Katya meets an old man who she believes it can only be the mind of the great painter. Your "spiritual" visitor engages you in a conversation about the miniscule peculiarities of painting some of the images there. He shares this experience with his father in a letter. Taking the meeting literally, he discusses the historical background of the old man`s statements and seeks answers to a series of concluding questions about his daughter`s meeting. From then on the three, the old painter, the daughter and the father discuss animals, Greece, fur, sexuality, the strangeness of drawing.
